About Sparks/Gorman Family Tree
This family tree has been "under construction" for over 6 years. It started out as the result of a trip my wife & I took to Ireland in Sept. 1999. After returning we both realized that we didn't know very much about our respective families at all. Subsequently we began to research our family trees. As the year went on it became a Christmas present for my family in 2000. Since then it has turned into what I think will be a lifelong project. It seems that not a week goes by that I don't find some little bit of new information about my family. Sometimes the smallest details lead to the biggest rewards. I think that more than anything else, creating a family tree gives me a sense of who I am. It has brought to life people who have long ago been forgotten. In one sense it gives them a little bit of immortality. I hope you enjoy my research. Please remember that not all of the information contained my tree has been verified to 100% certainty. I have made it as accurate as I possibly could, but I'm sure there are mistakes so if you happen to find one (or more), please don't hesitate to let me know.

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.
In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool. |
